Nominet Trust

Nominet Trust believes in harnessing the power of digital technology to improve lives and communities. As the UK’s only dedicated Tech for Good funder, they bring together, invest in and support people committed to using digital technology to create social and economic value. When they approached me about refreshing their visual identity I was only to happy to help.

Freeman Christie were brought in to help the Trust better understand their core values and the brand essence that they wanted to project through all their corporate communications. This provided an invaluable foundation on which to build the new look of the brand.

First we overhauled the visual identity by developing a fresh new colour palette, a more sophisticated approach to typography whilst introducing a stronger ‘documentary’ style of photography. I brought Sam Bevington and Andy Potts onboard to provide bold illustrations and a set of brand guidelines were developed to help explain the new brand identity.

"I have had the pleasure of working with Ben for more than 10 years and am constantly struck by his creativity and the quality of his execution. Ben has a rare gift of being able to interpret the most complex briefs and emerge with simple, delightful designs which set the benchmark in the field. Ben combines a relaxed style with the highest standards of professionalism, making him an exceptional creative director."

Publication Strands

As part of the brand refresh I developed a suite of publication strands that would be delivered as screen based interactive PDFs but which could work equally well as printed hard copies.

Annual Report

I was asked to produce an Annual Report that would present key facts and statistics about the Trust in a bold and engaging way. In response I created a collection of iconic illustrations and combined them with infographic elements to communicate the reports' information in an upbeat and accessible manner.
